How do I respond to Google Play's Data safety section for games created with GDevelop?

Developers will soon be required to tell Google about their app’s privacy and security practices by filling out a form in the Play Console.

All developers that have an app published on Google Play must complete the Data safety form, including apps on internal, closed, open, or production testing tracks.

How should I answer this form if I want to use GDevelop’s analysis service?

Are there any other GDevelop features that need to be answered in this form? (For example, ads, Firebase, etc.)

Is there anything else I should be aware of?

I believe this depends on you, and not really on GDevelop itself.
It’s up to you to add a link for the users to request deletion of their personal data.

Regarding encryption in transit, I suppose it depends on the solution you are using. If it goes through httpS, it should be encrypted. :man_shrugging:

I don’t have any tips for you, I haven’t checked this new thing yet.

I will add a supplementary note.

Google’s help page states the following:
“This includes data collected and handled through any third party libraries or SDKs used in their apps.”

So, GDevelop’s analysis services may be relevant.
(Since it’s anonymous data, it’s exempt from “sharing” but could still fall under “collecting”)

Is GDevelop’s analysis service encrypted?
What kind of information does GDevelop’s analysis service collect?

If this information is disclosed, we will be able to answer google’s forms more smoothly.

The information is sent over https. No, we cannot offer an user to delete their data as we have no way of knowing what data belongs to who because of the anonymity of the analytics.
